The Election Commission is singularly responsible for the second wave of Covid and should probably be booked for murder, the Madras High Court observed today in the sharpest criticism yet of crowded campaigns for the five state polls that continued in the middle of raging virus cases. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has once again become the richest person on Earth by defeating Amazon chief Jeff Bezos. As per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the Tesla chief executive officer's wealth rose to $199.9 billion after the rocket company he founded completed another funding round. Musk’s spa ce startup, SpaceX, raised $850 million in fresh funding this month from a group of investors led by Sequoia Capital. The rocket company is valued at $74 billion after the round, which is a 60 percent jump from August. Tesla had earlier announced that it has invested $1.5 billion in the Bitcoin cryptocurrency. The announcement led to a surge in the price of one Bitcoin, which has even surpassed $50,000 per coin.
The US troops made their final exit from Afghanistan late on Monday night in a hasty retreat after 20 years of war that turned out to be America’s longest. Before leaving, the US military disabled a number of their choppers and armoured vehicles at the Kabul airport hangar. A video shared by a journalist on Twitter shows how the Taliban fighters entered the hangar soon after the US forces exited the country in their final flight out of Kabul . In the video, the Taliban fighters are seen examining the Chinook helicopters left behind by the US military.
