EIA 2020 released by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has attracted the wrath of the public from not only Assam or the North-Eastern region but also the entire Himalayan region such as Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Kashmir and Ladakh.  EIA 2020 will lead to loss of biodiversity, erosion of soil, destruction of water resources, degrading of soil fertility, decrease of groundwater level and increase in pollution. Climate change is also one of the major causes for large-scale flood and erosion in the North East, he said. Gogoi said that more than 130 people have lost their lives in flood-related incidents and landslides this year in Assam. "It will ultimately have negative impact on health and economical activities in the region and will lead to starvation, unemployment too. Today there has been emphasis on sustainable economic development by taking effective steps to maintain ecological balance," the letter read.

After ban on TikTok and 59 other Chinese apps last month, the government has created a new list of apps to examine them if they pose any risk to national security or individual’s privacy. This time, the Centre has kept 275 Chinese apps on the radar, including PubG, Zili, Resso,  AliExpress  and ULike, according to a report in  The Economic Times . Apps from other Chinese internet and tech majors like Meitu, LBE Tech, Perfect Corp, Sina Corp, Netease Games, Yoozoo Global are also in the list. Although PubG videogame has been developed by a subsidiary of South Korean video game company  Bluehole , it is also backed by China’s most valuable internet major Tencent.  On the other hand, Zili is owned by Xiaomi, Resso and ULike by TikTok-owner  ByteDance , and AliExpress by Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba .

Chief Secretary to the government of Assam, Kumar Sanjay Krishna, vide a notice dated July 22, has allowed inter-district movement of citizens on July 30 and July 31. "Inter district movement of citizens is allowed on 30th and 31st July 2020 in the State of Assam subject to the strict compliances of COVID-19 regulations as detailed in the various guidelines of Govt. of Assam," read the notice. Permission will not granted for Inter District movement of those who are resident of Corona containment zone.

  India-China talks should resolve the border dispute, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said this afternoon as he interacted with the troops in Ladakh, adding the extent of the success, however, "cannot be guaranteed". The Defence Minister landed in Ladakh this morning, over a month after the June 15 clash with China in which 20 soldiers were killed in the line of duty. "Whatever talks have happened so far, the matter should get resolved... but to what extent it would be resolved, I cannot guarantee. However, I want to assure you that not an inch of our land can be taken by any power in the world," Rajnath Singh told the troops as he visited the Lukung post near Pangong Lake.

Flood situation is more dangerous than COVID-19 in Assam. Flood is a natural disaster happening every year. But Government does not take any serious action for flood which may reduce the risk of flood prone Area in Assam through out the bank of Brahmaputra. In Assam More than 50 people has died in a week due to Flood and number of deaths by COVID-19 is 36 in four months. But it seems government so serious enough for COVID-19 Which has negligible Death rate. We have to appeal Government to take necessary steps to prevent and reduce the affect of Flood in Assam permanently.
